  • Starting Over U Than Naing and his family of seven once lived a peaceful life in Myin Chan Su Village. They were self-sufficient farmers until conflict forced them to flee in June 2024, leaving behind their livelihood and home.
  • The Hardship of Displacement The family spent nearly two years as displaced persons in Mandalay. U Than Naing shared, “Life was incredibly difficult. We struggled to find stable work and provide for our children’s education while enduring both conflict and the trauma of an earthquake.”
  • A Helping Hand Throughout this journey, Grace Hand Myanmar (GHM) provided vital support. Upon the family’s return to their village in April 2026, GHM provided a grant of 300,000 MMK to help U Than Naing restart his livelihood. “Thanks to GHM, we were able to rebuild,” U Than Naing explained. “I combined that grant with my own savings to buy a sow, which started our pig-rearing business.”
  • Additionally, GHM’s business training empowered his wife to start a fruit trading business, providing the family with steady income.
  • Back to the Land They Love Today, U Than Naing is successfully raising pigs, and his wife continues her trade. “Being back in our village feels wonderful. We are slowly rebuilding our future with the support we received,” he added.
  • A Message of Strength U Than Naing hopes his story inspires others: “I want to encourage everyone to keep trying, no matter how hard life becomes. I pray every day that the people of Myanmar will soon live in safety and peace.”
